Janine (Moore) Lee graduated from Ottawa High School in 1979 and proceeded to get her bachelor's and master's degrees in Rehabilitation Services Education and Counseling at Emporia State.
She spent the first few years of her professional life working with several programs in the area of alcohol and drug abuse. In 1998, Janine joined the Ewing-Marion Kauffman Foundation to manage a nationally known prevention program called Project STAR (Student Taught Awareness and Resistance). She managed the program development process, monitored the research and evaluation component, and worked closely with groups in the community. In early 1998, after three years in the position of Senior Program Director, she was promoted to vice-president, Community Program.
Mrs. Lee volunteers with many community groups and organizations and is completing an MBA with Rockhurt's Executive Fellows Program.
Janine and her husband, Don, live in Olathe. They have two sons, Devin and Aarin.
