USD 290 parents, students, and staff. We have been working with the Franklin County Health Department, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and the Kansas State Department of Education to ensure that amid growing concerns for public safety with COVID-19 that our schools are maintaining an environment that is healthy for our students and community. In the last few days, those concerns have continued to increase across our area and this morning the Franklin County Health Department made a determination that in order to best control the spread of COVID-19 that our schools should close until March 30. The statement from FCHD is attached and provides more information for you. The closure of our schools includes all activities as well as the normal school day. As we continue to work through this for our students and community I will keep you informed as more information becomes available.
