Soccer Spectator Limit Update

The OHS soccer program will be returning to action next week!  Before the players hit the field, I wanted to update you on the seating and ticketing protocols for OHS soccer.  First, I would like to apologize that the initial seating limits that were reported were incorrect.  During a home soccer game, OHS fans will be limited to 90 fans.  The visiting teams will also be allowed 90 fans.  Now that the correct numbers are out, I wanted to elaborate on how the ticketing system will work.

First, the tickets that will get a spectator into a game are not for sale anywhere.  Please do not contact the office asking how you can purchase a ticket.  Instead, each player will be given 4 tickets from their coach that have the player's name on it.  These tickets should be kept for the entire season.  Before each game, the player should distribute their tickets to people that they would like to have come to the game.  Each ticket is good for one person.  At the game, there will be a roster listing each player's name that is playing in the JV game.  There will be a separate list for those in the varsity game.  When a person comes to the ticket booth, they must show the ticket that has the player's name on it.  This applies to adults and children.  Anyone entering the game, must have a ticket.  The ticket taker will mark off on their sheet that one ticket has been redeemed.  We will continue to mark off tickets used until the maximum amount for that player is used.  If you do not have a ticket for the game you are wanting to watch, you will not be allowed to enter.  That means if you have a player in the varsity game, you will not be allowed to enter until the beginning of the varsity game unless you have a ticket from one of the players from the JV game.  If you want to attend both games, you will need a ticket for both games.

One thing that we do not want to happen is have a situation where 90 fans have entered the stadium and a varsity parent shows up to the game and cannot watch their child.  To prevent this, at the end of the JV game, we will clear the stands and then admit people for the varsity game.  If you only have a ticket from a player in the JV game, you will be asked to go home.  To get into the varsity game, you will need to have a ticket from one of the varsity players.   This policy will ensure that varsity parents don't get locked out of their child's game.

Please note that all 4 tickets will not always be able to be redeemed each game.  Every school has a different seating capacity so some smaller venues may allow fewer than 4 tickets for that game.  Parents should follow social media for updates on the ticket limit for each event.

I have also been asked, "How many tickets will a family get if there are siblings on the soccer team?" The ticketing system is based on players, not on families.  EVERY player will get 4 tickets to distribute how they see fit.

This will be a very different process than what you have been used to in the past.  I appreciate your patience.  We will adapt the ticketing process as needed to provide an opportunity for people to watch OHS soccer and stay within the 90 person limit for each school.

By the way, did I mention how awesome the turf is?

Thank  you for your patience and support.  I will see you all next week!
