Alex Chidster was selected as the winner for the Innovators of Tomorrow Contest through Scholastic. For this contest students were challenged to look for problems in the local community and design an invention to help solve the issue. Alex designed a R.E.T.T. (Reduced Exposure Temperature Taker) and the Robotics team took his design plans and built it. The intention of this invention was to reduce the exposure to staff members that are taking temperatures of incoming students every morning by using a temperature sensor, a raspberry pi, and lights to indicate when an individual is within the acceptable temperature range, or not, during COVID-19 while standing a safe distance away.
Way to go Alex and the OHS Robotics team!!! #CyclonesLearn
