Girls' League Basketball Information for Thursday, December 11, 2025
Whirlwind Students, Parents, and Fans,
Our upcoming girls' league basketball games are scheduled for Thursday, December 11, as follows.
- 7th Grade Girls will play @ Home vs. Bonner Springs at 4:00 PM. This will be a Varsity ONLY game, as Bonner Springs does not have enough players to field a JV team.
- 8th Grade Girls will travel to Eudora. The JV game will begin at 4:00 PM, with Varsity to follow.

ECKMEA Honor Band Participants: Congratulations to Ruby, Marshall, and Liam!
The Cardinals traveled to Ottawa tonight. 8tg -grade JV came away with a 25–13 win, and Varsity battled to the end but fell in a close one, 27–26.

The OHS Drama Club is offering a Parents' Night Out this Monday, December 8, from 4:00–8:00 p.m.

Our Winter Band Concert was the perfect way to kick off the season. Our students highlighted their hard work with songs that brought the holiday cheer to life. Thank you to our families for joining us and celebrating this special evening of music, joy, and winter magic.
Our PTO will host a Winter Dance for students at OMS on Friday, December 5, from 6:00-8:00 pm. (Doors will not open until 6:00 pm)

12/2: The 7th grade Whirlwinds hosted the Chargers tonight. JV battled hard but came up short, 29–20. Varsity continued to compete to the end, falling 49–10.
12/1/25: OMS girls' basketball, cheer, and play practices will be dismissed at 5:00 pm tonight. Stay warm, Whirlwinds!

Such an exciting moment tonight as our 7th-grade girls’ cross country team was recognized at the girls’ basketball game against Tonganoxie and presented with their banner celebrating a League win by just 3 points. Congratulations, girls, on a well-deserved dedication!

JV: Ottawa came out strong with a solid 13–6 win.
Varsity: Despite great effort, Varsity fell to Spring Hill 14–26.
